Carol Johnson

    My current and past professions.

I was working as an RN in Corrections at that time I joined and until I went off on disability about 6 years ago. I practiced as an RN for most of my adult life as well as obtaining a degree as a Nutritional Consultant.

I am married for the second time and together we have seven adult children, 9 grand children and 8 great grandchildren.

We have a busy life in travel with our trailer and also our timeshare. We love boating, fishing, gardening and old cars. We participate in Hot Rod cruises and both have our own old cars.

We love our beautiful Golden Retriever Max and he is also our traveling companion.

    Why I joined Soroptimist.

I joined Soroptimist of Abbotsford Matsqui, in 1981 as we chartered the new club with the assistance of the Chilliwack club.

I joined the organization to be helpful in the greater cause of making a difference for women and children worldwide. We have continued throughout the years serving both communities of Abbotsford and Mission.

We have had so many projects to raise funds over the years.

I have enjoyed serving on most executive positions many times during my membership and have always looked forward to our meetings.

What I like best about being a member.

The longstanding friendships have been a wonderful part of Soroptimist, and it is a great part of my life to continually renew these friendships at meetings and events at home and in other cities at conventions and conferences.

I have been a Soroptimist for 30 years and look forward to our 30th Anniversary celebration in Nov 2011
